Nah, he should give them a go. They had their chamber prog albums but also their soundtrack albums. He might find something there to appreciate.

I believe Art Zoyd and Univers Zero are the more accessible RIO groups, but I don't really know anything about the genre.

i'd say stormy six was ze more accessible RIO group o:3 zey have a pop-rock album and a bunch of prior folk LPs
