Topic: The Worst Christmas Song Ever Recorded Posted: December 21 2011 at 06:30
"The Chipmunk Song"? Nope. "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer"? Close, but no cigar. "The Christmas Shoes"? Pfft, it is to laugh.
The worst Christmas song in all of recorded history is....
"Blue Christmas", as recorded by Denny Brownlee, aka Seymour Swine. If you have not yet encountered this abomination, count yourself lucky. It consists of Brownlee, a radio DJ, performing the song in a VERY bad Porky Pig voice (mostly just adding "bdea bdea bdea" to the beginning of every key word), while his on-air cohorts cackle away in the background. Just hearing the first few seconds of it is enough to make me stabby, and yet I can't get through a single Christmas season without being ambushed by it. Mel Blanc undoubtedly does a half gainer in his grave every time it is played - and I'm sure Elvis is none too happy about it either.
There is no argument about the unspeakable awfulness of this recording. Mods, you can go ahead and lock this thread down now.

The first one that popped into my head, and unfortunately they have a way of doing that, is Jingle Bell Rock. Of course the best "modern" one ever is Linus and Lucy. Also partial to the old classics: Jesu and Greensleeves. Generally Christmas music is something best left to the instrumental.

I love Christmas and Christmas music. But I recently discovered a song that misrepresented Christmas on such an atrocious scale. This disgustingly grotesque song was the Justin Bieber cover of The Little Drummer Boy. My ears are forever damaged from that piece of trash!!!

Anything by a pop/rock/hiphop/jazz/prog artist is trash.......These always come off as some sort of gimmick as they try to infuse their own "creative flare".
I prefer the hymns or carols that are sung in connection with some type of religious ceremony and also by carolers like the Charles Dickens Singers in the more classic style.

Inonly like the true old classics in christmas songs. I hate all rock versions or pop versions that make the songs feel like ready for a party and not for a day like christmas.
Also, there is a Justin Bieber christmas album. That should be the one...

Oh God yes. I also nominate every version of f**king Last Christmas by Wham! We have like 5 covers of it at work, I was clenching my fist during one by Cascada or Taylor Swift or some sh*t the other day even though I was on the floor and someone probably noticed.

Any pop or rock star who cashes in on the season by recording a christmas single is a nominee and joint winner of worse christmas song ever, and that includes Gregory Lake, Keith Emerson and Ian Anderson.

...and you can't embed it. Better you didn't hear it anyway. The thought of Bryan Adams doing a reggae song about Christmas is nothing short of hilarious. The video is only worth watching for Pee-Wee Herman.
