...or, to be more precise,

'PROGRESSIVE PUNK' BAND seek GUITARIST and VOCALIST or preferably A GUITAR-PLAYING VOCALIST

The Display Team are now short of a singing guitarist. We're looking for a new one, ideally someone who likes musical experimentation, the power and vigour of punk, and the homemade vegan cakes my mum keeps giving me when we go on tour. We're also not averse to the cream of metal, funk, jazz, whatever - but this isn't one of those 'look what we can play' bands, so show-offs need not apply.
We rehearse in London (Deptford), play around the UK and across Europe (so far) on a DIY basis. We're almost ready to record our second album (the first, 'Drones', came out on independent label Genin Records) and are itching to do more!

Do you like
CARDIACS
SPARKS
OINGO BOINGO
THE DEAD KENNEDYS
MESHUGGAH
THUMPERMONKEY
XTC
THE BEACH BOYS (for the harmonies, kaftans and key changes)
or, indeed, anything at all, you SWINE?

Well, get in touch. It would be advantageous to have your own gear, ideas, a good ear, enthusiasm and no egotistical designs on being 'the frontman' - we're all the frontman. A driving licence would also be a boon but is by no means essential. Age, 'image', gender etc. are irrelevant; we want to make music with you, not babies.

You can hear us here:

and then contact us here:

Thanks for reading.

Thanks, folks. If you know anyone who might be interested in auditioning (or just hearing the music), please tell them!

If you'd have wanted a bassist, and were in Israel, then I'd try out for you in a sec. Your debut is fantastic!! Reminds me of a ska-esque Monsoon Bassoon. Good luck in you search!!

Thanks very much, Aughm. It's proving distressingly difficult to find someone who plays the right instrument in the right country! If you have any guitarist friends in the UK, let them know we're looking! And if I start a Middle Eastern drum and bass side-project, I'll look you up.
