It's mind boggling. Obviously teams have a much better and intensive look than we do...maybe he just doesn't have it.
The name doesn't equate to automatic greatness, but just can't believe how little chance he's had.

Though we've seen how well Piquet Jr was treated so I guess name loyalty means diddly these days!

And Senna maybe out again, of course.  No drive for next season as of yet.

I'm not too surprised, when I first heard the name he was endlessly talked about as being so great, he was the next big sh*t.
Now he could very well be, just saying I'm not surprised he was given the chance, he seemed really wanted in F1.
I was more shocked Senna never really got a chance, until so recently.

I am still surprised that Ricciardo has leapt so far up the F1 tree though.  I am happy for him though.

I wonder who'll take that HRT seat then...

Plus I'd say the Caterham lineup should remain the same now that Ricciardo has joined Toro Rosso.  I still think Kovaleinen should have a better drive but having said that, I think Caterham are going places.  I expect them to be much more mid-table this coming season.

Just a hunch, of course.

Actually I have heard of Vergne!
Well, through research of course....
I know he had a dominant victory in the British F3 series.

In fact: 30 races - 13 wins, 20 podiums, 29 point finishes. 99 point lead over 2nd place!
I'm not familiar with the series layout, I'm sure Andy is far more familiar but I do know each weekend is now 3 "races" and one is a quali I think?  Still, quite an impressive season regardless.

If left to me I'd stick with Force India as well, seems like they wont have it though.

JJ Lehto, the real one, has been sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison for a boat accident last year, he's appealing.

Damn. Though I only know it even happened because Vompatti told me about it lol
I think here we'll get news about what the Queen had for brunch years before we hear something about JJ Lehto.
Kind of figured, I know they were looking into the situation and I'm assuming it's illegal in Finland to drive a boat drunkLOL Is tragic that someone died because of itCry

I'd never even heard of the incident until I read the story earlier today.

Really!? Well Vomps is Finnish so maybe it was only news there.
Oh JJ how far into obscurity you've fallen!
He told me about it months ago, though just an accident, I didn't know someone died because of itCry

Toro Rosso have 2 new drivers:

Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.

I've never heard of Vergne but presume Andy is aware of him.

I've not read the BBC article yet presume the other two guys have left the team completely and don't have drives for next year.

They didn't exactly light up the world.

Tony Fernandes ownes Caterham cars as well as the team formerly known as Lotus, as well as Air Asia, Team Air Asia (the GP2 team) and the QPR football club.

Apparently he's going to move the road and F1 operations all under the same roof.

Its possible, but all the FI talk is around a Hulkenburg/Di Resta line up. And lets not foget, Williams were on pole for last years Brazillian GP and were legitimately racing Mercedes and Renault for most of the second half of the season.

True.

But I still cannot see Williams being that competitive.  So I'd still say it was a backwards move for Sutil.  Of course, he could stay at Force India.

I get the feeling Williams are going to have a much better year next year. There problem was always that they had one person doing too much and the car suffored for it, but they went on a recruitment drive, got some good people and should come up with a better car next year.

^I think for Sutil its either a case of Williams or HRT. Easy choice there.

Hmm, I read about Grosjean yesterday.

I hope Sutil doesn't go to Williams but if he cannot get another drives, then who knows?

Barrichello has to retire.  I like the fellow but he's lost his competitive streak now.  Let some of the younger chaps race.

Whoever takes that seat though will have to partner Maldonado... hmm.  That could be a breaker!

LOL though agreed on the second part. They absolutely need to build a better car.

Of course you think that's what they need to do JamesTongue though I'm sure you know outside Jamesland, they would never dump Alonso. That'd be utter lunacy.
Also I wouldn't bark too far up the play by the rules tree...was it McLaren that got some $100million fine for spygate? Wink

Massa does need to go though, Ric pretty much summed his contributions to the team.
