So...yeah. It seems like a matter of time before we start bombing Iran. With everything that's happened since the Iraq Invasion--OWS, economy, Defense Authorization bill, I'm predicting mass riots in major cities across the U.S. Kind of just depends when it happens, I suppose.

Well that certainly looks obvious to us. Maybe it isn't on the tip of the mind for them.

Well if they had put that cluster at the top of the building it would have been different.  If they wanted to make it worse it could have been a vertical stagger between the two towers and moved them up.  They are designing twin towers.  Kind of hard as architects not to be aware of what they were doing.

That's such a deeply stupid design I have enormous trouble believing that it is not intentional. But on the other hand they would have had to know that it would just piss people off, so why do it?

Ridiculous and not pleasing to the eye in any way. The cantilevered part on that tall of a bldg just looks retarded.

I like the design and don't really see what it has to do with 9/11. I doubt the N. Koreans really care about us enough to build a monument like that intentionally.

^It seems it's South Korea after all Pat. But yes, the design is not so bad and I don't see why they can't make buildings the way they choose to. I mean, none has complained about Americans designing anything that resembles something very bad for other countries, or am I wrong? I'm sure if an American architect designs a building that looked like a big mushroom, nobody would sent him complains from Hiroshima...

That's funny because 1: it was assumed to be a N. Korean building design proposal and 2: if they had put the cluster at the top of the design it would have resembled a mushroom cloud. LOL
With the exception of having two towers.

I just assumed it was N. Korea since we make a habit of demonizing them.

A bad assumption on your part.  I assumed S. Korea correctly because from what I know NK wouldn't have the money for a project like that.  Bonus points for me for actually reading the article. Tongue

It was a wrong assumption. I don't think it was a bad one. I don't know why I would read an article about something I could care less about.

I've already said I find it pleasing. It reminds of a biological process with the seemingly random outgrowth locking into a cohesive structure.

It's kind of warty or corn smut looking.  The firm does have some other interesting buildings conceptual and built.

Your assumptions, though correct this time, are based on false premises. North Korea can build damn amazing buildings. . They don't have the money? They have a lot of it, just in a few hands. Oh wait, but everyone is equal in NK. So that building belongs to the people.
