FLAVIO GIURATO : IL TUFFATORE (1978)
![]() Another cool italian singer album. Great piano and jazzy arrangements. Makes me think a little bit of Mario Panseri's work. |

Quoted for truth ![]() Just had another listen after an hour of Klaus Schulzeīs Cyborg. Felt warm and weird with all these musical changes after an album like that. Aria is a terrific album IMO. Bird you say? I love birds and they seem to be the only thing Iīm painting/drawing these days. Something about those wings and beaks that speak to me. And no Pierre, I havenīt done one of you yet. What is the national bird of Italy anyways? If itīs a duck, Iīm going to explode in laughter ![]() |

It doesn't look like Italy has a national bird. What i don't get his how the USA has the majestic Bald Eagle as their national bird and we(Canada) have the ahem Common Loon. Not a special Loon either,a Common one. |

^Common loon? Seems about right talking to you John
![]() We have the swan here in Denmark, which is probably down to H.C. Andersenīs fairytale. Quite a beautiful bird, but it has a temper. Let me put it this way - you donīt wanna muck about with it too much... Itīs a strong sucker! |

![]() I guess you win this one John - Iīm out of my league here. We have beavers here, but I gather theyīre more blonde, and they donīt take too much to wood these days... |

I have seen those blonde beavers myself but they've always ignored me.Might be because of the wood. Hey you want proof that Scottish people drink too much ? Their national animal is the Unicorn.I am not sh*tting you either. ![]() Edited by Mellotron Storm - December 01 2011 at 15:45 |

Hey sorry guys for going off the beaten track here,i don't want to blame Guldbamsen(completely his fault) but he did start talking about birds first.
I've been listening to Mass Media Stars of late and while it does certainly have that strong GENESIS flavour i like it.I like how he warbles when he sings like the guy on the SPLIT ENZ debut.

The common loon is an uncommonly beautiful bird. We have many here in the midwest
![]() Lots of talk about beavers and wood. Hmmm ![]() |

Thankyou Jim ! And the loon also can carry a tune albeit a melancholic one.Actually i'm sure the mid-west and our north country have a lot of similarities Jim.Lots of lakes and undisturbed forests to start with.

Not sure I should post this here, but anyway ...
I stumbled upon this band in the Jazz Fusion station on Earbits (a great webradio site, check it out !) and i surprisingly enjoyed their music. I'm still new to the Jazz/rock scene but considering they are Italian, I thought i'd submit it to you :D I equally hear some prog influence and some fusion style in their playing. Their name is Individual Choice, they're based in Rome. Here is their debut album in streaming : http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/indchoice-makechoice/ |

Wow, this takes the sad reality of "one and done" in RPI to ridiculous depths. This is Apologia Lupi--I can only find this one song of their single that they released in 1974, but boy is it amazing:

![]() MAMMA NON PIANGERE. Nr 1 (1979) Did I already mentioned this one ? I like it very much. Some kind of avant garde stuff with Zappa, Gramigna and classical music influences. Not so easy to listen, but it's a grower. ![]() |

I was all set to propose that for addition after hearing it, but the site guidelines require at minimum a 10-25 minute EP length release for inclusion. I guess they don't qualify then. What a drag. |

Oh my - that is a drag! I love this track. Maybe, just like so many of those bands lost in the haze of the 70s - will at one point find some dusty old tapes of the album that never got through the needle eye of their label. Hereīs to hope ![]() Again - what an amazing track, thanks for posting Todd ![]() |
