I enjoy the drive home less because the traffic is generally worse (in terms of volume and density of the vehicles and general demeanour of the other drivers), even though the destination is certainly more preferable. If the traffic is bad in the morning - whoopee! I'm going to be late and it wasn't my fault - win-win.
I am, in all things, more of a pessimist than an optimist - I'd like to be an optimist but can't abide being disappointed all the time so it's never going to work for me.

The drive home from work, because I'm not going to work at that point. If you're speaking of traffic, then it really doesn't matter and I'm pretty lucky to be driving against traffic both ways.

Pretty much describes me. Plus going to work means the eastern sun is in my eyes when leaving the neighborhood.
And I'm going to say I'm generally optimistic.

The sun is always in my eyes on my commute. I once came home from work at midnight and even though the sun had set, it somehow magically bore a hole right through the earth just to shine in my eyes.  Oh, and I lean towards pessimism, although I have to say the benefits of that are that I'm rarely disappointed and occasionally pleasantly surprised.

I take the bus to work. Using a car for a single person to move oneself around the city is not only excedingly expensive, but also mostly bad for trafic and for one's health. Since the public transportation is rather good where I live, I don't see the point of using a car to go to work.

Of course the drive home from work. It would be sad if one day I prefer to be anywhere else but at home, specially that anywhere being my job... (yes, this is sad too  ).

Thanks, makes sense now. I can't contribute, though, it always depended on the day and on the job for me, and also I can't decide whether I'm an optimist or a pessimist. :/

I don't think my tendency toward pessimism has anything to do with my preference to be at home rather than at work. When they create the job where I get paid to drink beer, watch tv and listen to music, then I might actually like working. Until that time, work will remain a necessary evil.
