I have been unable to convince my dad that voice recognition software is not processor intensive and he does not need a Macbook Pro with f**king 8 gigs of ram for email and powerpoint. His whole life he has had this thing of buying cutting edge computers even though he is not even remotely a power user, and now that we have separate computers (both because I can't stand Macs for what I want to use and because of logistics)that means he always has a way better computer when he is not even using a fraction of its power. goddamn you Apple, if you just made a laptop with a 17" display that isn't incredibly overpowered like every other manufacturer we wouldn't literally be wasting 3 grand on a laptop.

You father sounds like a stern fellow. Has he maybe talked to a computing professional about how much money he is wasting? No father wants to listen to their son on any topic ever.

My father listens to me as far as computers go because I am the only one in the family who sort of knows how to computer.

Replace "my" with any, and I mean doctors, lawyers etc.
