Why weren't those kids immunized?

1.- That's why immunization must be mandatory.
2.- Even if immunized, the virus can mutate and turn into extremely aggressive,like tuberculosis.

But there is a difference between not feeding your child and deciding not to give them a medical treatment whose side effects could be as bad or worse than the illness treated or prevented.  Of course, on the other hand Ivan has a point that children who are not vaccinated could pass a mutated strain of the disease to those who have been vaccinated.

We're not talking about a virus like the flu, stuff like chicken pox could be fatal to those who do not have immunization.

Then what we need here is better information for parents so they can make informed decisions, like what are the "complications from live vaccines" and how do they actually correlate?

There are constant outbreaks of preventable diseases in the Amish population.


Also, "informed parents"LOL That's an oxymoron.

I'd like to think that if you had a child saved by vaccination you'd feel likewise.  If you had a child harmed by disease that could have been prevented by a vaccination I guess you'd be feeling rather proud of yourself.

But please, I mean real science, proper medical studies, actual facts and figures, not anti-vaccine propaganda, I can read that anywhere (in fact I can read this particular quote on every anti-vaccine site going).
