I would approve forced sterilization for people against vaccines, especially since there has been a resurgence for once thought of "extinct" diseases.

Yeah, I'm kind of for forced abortions for anti-abortionists, then they might just get the whole principal of choice.

Now that's quite unfair. Some pro-lifers have such hot daughters.

Yes because you know there's never any side-effects or cost.

I'm amazed at how people freakout about large corporations exploiting people, unless it's the drug industry. Then they always have the best intentions.

For the most part, side-effects are posted before the drug gets administered.
Take a look at the HPV vaccine sheet
Yet, activists claim that there are no such things available to the public.
Now, there may be a few cases of extreme or rare side-effects, but that is the case with any medicine and almost anything that you put into your body. The benefits outweigh  the risks.

And I've volunteered (for extra credit for an Anthropology and Medice class) explained the vaccine to parents who only hear what the scare-mongering TV hosts say.

If the vaccinations are being forced, what good does a side-effects sheet do?

Inform the public of the health risks involved. Lets say your daughter gets it and develops a complication. It would be beneficial to the parent and health care workers if the vaccine was involved or not.

The determination of what is worth the risk is not one for government, especially given the bias present. There's nothing laudable about forcing possibly harmful and useless treatment of people.

You have just reminded me that I am overdue to go out and pay $25 for a freakin' flue vaccine?  So for a side note open question for everyone, are you or aren't you going to get one and why?

I'm not going to get one.

There's risk associated with the vaccine. I don't plan on partaking in them. The worst case scenario is essentially that I miss work for a few days. In any case though, I have a very strong immune system. I take good care of myself. I typically only get sick once every two years or so.

I'm not in the at risk category. I'd rather leave the supply to children, the elderly, health care workers, teachers, etc. that have to be in close proximity to those at risk.

I got it once a few years ago and came down with the second strain that it didn't protect against. LOL

I'll probably get one because a week out of work will kill me.

Yes, people think it protects against all strains but it only protects against the one or two that people are statistically higher to get.

I used to get them every year, when they were free at my work. Of course now I am not working, and will not pay. I am approaching elderly, I suppose, but a little flu never hurt anyone, though granted you'll feel like sh*t for a couple of weeks. That which does not kill you makes you stronger. There is actually some truth to that.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

This is a double problem, if you want your child not to be immunized, could maybe be seen as a right, but if a non immunized kid gets a contagious disease and kills other kids, is a crime.

Why weren't those kids immunized?
