Starting a new Shred before the old one is locked means the Shred you started doesn't count in the Great Reckoning of Shred Room Starting.

Just so you know.  Geek

Both fantastic and terrible

Finally finished school and have until march next year before uni starts, although too much drinking/lack of sleep/having a bad cold is not a good combo.

Haven't heard from you for ages! How're you and your family?

Also, to hell with Black Friday.  Let everybody else stay out in the cold for hours to save $50 on a TV.  Plus I heard from my mom that our mall (with my grandma, aunt, and brother in it) was on lock down because of a gunman.  Angry

Congratulations!  Party

We're all doing okay.  Had a lovely Thanksgiving (95% of my family lives in town- both sides, so we get to see everyone).  I'm working on a novel and trying to get my third album going (it's mostly all written and just needs to be recorded now).  I get to enjoy today off from work (and of course Sat and Sun).  And it's nice a cold now.  Big smile

Why, yes it is.  Cool

It's a novel I wrote when I was 12 (then rewrote when I was 14-15).  I still have the notebooks I used to write in (wish I could find the maps I drew- they would be most helpful to me now).  It was, of course, poorly written and trite, but many of the people and places have stayed with me all these years.  I feel I am now doing them justice with an original chronicle that spans decades.  Smile

my reading habbit is 98,9% fantasy and sci/fi so im in your zone of interest,

i have yet to read RusselK though but im planning to, have you read him, is he inpiration, or Tolkien influenced (though that is important when you write fantasy is to escape being compared to ether Tolkien, Herbert or Robert E Howard)

As an adult, I have written novels and short stories before, but they were not fantasy.

The thing is, I didn't have any literary inspiration when I wrote my fantasy novel as a teenage because quite frankly, I hated to read.  LOL Embarrassed  My inspiration mainly came from movies (like Willow, Masters of the Universe, etc.) and mythology.

I don't believe I'll be compared to Tolkien- while my work is high fantasy, there are no elves, dwarves, or trolls.  And my work, while it contains both swords and sorcery, would not be considered "sword & sorcery" (like Howard).

I'm very excited about it, and have promised my wife that unlike my other two novels, when I finish and edit this project (which will actually consist of 5 distinct volumes), I will seek publication.

i like it when it is a fancy, new type of magic, like something thats wovs the reader, but takes time for the lead role (or roles) to fully know, like their is always room for new things to discover not just in the world but in your own abilatys, like their is some new trick reveald over a laps of 4 books is interesting, if everything is learned in one chapter then it feels rushed,

but it would also be interesting follow a character who is fully powerd from the beginning like he KNOWS what to do at any moment, but have to hide it or he will be killed by some jellous high lord, dreadlord,

Without going into too much detail, I'll just say that my story focuses on the nature of magic.  However, there will be a lot more going on!  I'm very excited to be writing it- especially since many of the places and characters have been "mellowing" in my brain for over fifteen years.

There used to be elves (different races of elves) and drawves and all that in my original, but I have decided they are pointless relics that would serve no purpose in my story.

Also, there's a message for you in the CZ.  Wink
