I love the sound of Nursery Cryme. I like that whole "medieval" prog sound, with story telling lyrics. Musical Box is one of my favorite songs, with the best ending ever! I had to put this record on because of this topic Thumbs Up

Either Nursery Cryme or Foxtrot, though Selling England By The Pound might soon be a third contender.

I'm more prone to the Collins era of the band (Hate if you want) I love A Trick of the Tail and Wind & Wuthering. Those are my two favorite followed by Selling England and Duke. The Shapes album isn't far behind. I also enjoy Seconds Out and Three Sides Live

Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) is a big post-And Then There fan and doesn't "understand" their former albums at allSmile.

A Trick of the Tail was the first album I heard and the twinkling guitar notes of Dance on A Volcano still entrance me.
It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.

Just can't believe you can have Duke so far down on your list. However you do nominate the greatest Genesis album ever, which happens to be on your list of live albums. That is of course is Genesis Live in London 1973. Why? It has the two greatest Genesis singers live together on stage, Peter Gabriel singing Supper's Ready and Phil Collins singing More Fool Me. The whole structure of Supper's Ready revolves around the voice of Peter Gabriel. Phil Collin's voice just cannot do this song justice although he tries hard on the Seconds Out album. Genesis were at their peak as a band in 1973 and their playlist for this concert comes from their two greatest albums were are SEBTP and Foxtrot. Watcher of the Skies which opens the concert is as good as it gets and the definitive version of the song. Transatlantic and The Watch have tried performing this song but don't even get close to matching Genesis at their peak.

I'd say Selling England By The Pound. Overall it's equal for me to Foxtrot but Dancing With The Moolit Knight makes me incline in favour of SEBTP, considering it is one of the best melodic pieces I have ever heard ever. Ever.

Of the studio albums it's got to be Selling England, The Lamb then Wind And Wuthering.

However my favourite of the lot is Seconds Out which is the first I heard by them.  A good friend (are you watching Rob Wink) played me some of the album and the first track he put on was Cinema Show.  I was completely blown away.
