I was watching a documentary on heavy metal and they were talking about how big of an influence Pagnini (sp?) was on the early metal guitarists.  I don't think that I have ever heard him.  Did he compose some pretty rocking classical music?

He was seriously insane as a violinist and is very fun to listen to. His work is considered the pinnacle of virtuoso violin playing.
