I got hit by a ball in the jaw today while goalkeeping. The spot between my left mandible and the left temporal bone hurts so much I can't even talk or chew food.

I took some metamizole and I was supposed to have another pill of it in ~4 hours but according to Wiki it's dangerous and can cause a condition called granulopenia.

Granulopenia, also known as Agranulosis or Agranulocytosis, is an acute condition involving a severe and dangerous leukopenia (lowered white blood cell count), most commonly of neutrophils causing a neutropenia in the circulating blood. It represents a severe lack of one major class of infection-fighting white blood cells. People with this condition are at very high risk of serious infections due to their suppressed immune system.

In agranulocytosis, the concentration of granulocytes (a major class of white blood cells that includes neutrophils, basophils, and eosinophils) drops below 100 cells/mm³ of blood, which is less than 5% of the normal value.

That seems like something that would happen only after prolonged use of the medication, but I don't know. I'd trust the doctor. Also, if you do get sick from following the doctor's orders, you could always sue him.

The doctor in case is my dad, so that wouldn't be a very smart idea. He just told me the chance of something bad happening is way lower than that of other analgesics, so I should be safe.

I pray for death when my head hurts. I've had the same headache since may. Why am I not dead yet? Cry
