^ If I hadn't given my vote away already I'd almost throw it to Fight Club as I enjoyed it too.
Especially moments like the Ikea scene, effective use of special effects without doing anything over the top.

Sure they should, what's missing is bold and italic.

One really glaring omission: Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

That's because it's not in the same ballpark as a lot of movies on this list.  Fight Club always seemed to me like it was about 3 hours too long.  I have trouble believing that it was only 163 minutes.

Time always wins.

Well this is impossible, but I voted for Silence of the Lambs because it didn't have any votes.

Godfather on top? I had no patience for it - too long and drawn out. I just watched Transformers 3 though and that was long too. Had a great ending.... great beginning but like the others, really silly dialogue and characters throughout. Impossible plot, appalling language for this type of film, and really dire screenplay. But still entertaining and way better than Transformers 2.

^"way better than Transformers 2" is an eufemism. Transformers 2 was awful.

Seven Samurai. I saw it for the first time last year and it amazed me how damn well it stood up against modern movie craft. It's masterful movie making and story telling. Shawshank Redemption was in the running but just didnt cover enough humanity to win out.

I'd like to say I didn't vote for Star Wars only because I saw it as a child and am probably very biased about it and can't separate my childlike wonder and awe from objective reality. But it is my fav on the list.
