Oh, and on Decibel...probably my favorite RIO but not really RIO group out there. My favorite is probably the live album, but all of them are top notch albums.

Np! Just listened to it again a week or so again...really can't see it falling out of my top 10 of the year.

And absolutely agreed on Udi's work. All fantastic sounding stuff. Exactly how I want my modern music to sound. The Calomito is a great example. Absolutely crisp and clear.

Very good album, love it. AltrOck is having a great year.

I saw their thread on Progears where they are quite upset about the illegal downloads of this album. A sad thing really when like you said Udi so much hard work and sweat goes into it. I'm going to support them and look forward to hearing it.

I'll certainly be picking this one up soon!

I agree with Assaf, a great year for AltrOck. Easily the best label out there IMO

Listened to CARTOON's two studio albums today. What surprised me about the debut was that they were a trio of keyboards, drums and guitar.I guess i usually hear horns in a lot of Avant music and so to not any or even a violinist seemed a little odd but it's a great album. The follow-up from these Californians does have a woodwind player and violinist helping out but i don't know if i'd say it's better than the first one. Both are excellent.

An excellent package. I have the first disc but I do want the bonus material so I'll definitely be getting this eventually.

And, since Cartoon was mentioned, this is a nice Cartoon-ish release as well.

Anyone here likes Massacre?

Fred Frith, Bill Laswell and Fred Maher recorded some awesome punkish/new wavey avant-rock under that name in the 80's. I recently got their debut and it's quite good.

I'm a fan; I have Killing Time, Funny Valentine and Meltdown and I plan on getting Lonely Heart as well eventually. A great meetings of minds/talents.
