That’s a bit tricky … but I would say yes (he created and used many characters, but most people will probably associate him with one in particular, even if he didn’t create that character himself).

Of course. I’ll give you two: One of his main characters used methylene nearly 20 years before science could prove its existence. And Will Eisner called him "the Hans Christian Andersen of comic books".

It’s probably difficult because this man is (sadly) much more famous in Europe than in America.
