I seem to remember the O-man said he was not going to follow the harsh policies of his predecessor on this issue.  Seems he changed his mind.

They state that federal law "takes precedence over state law..."

That's because the federal government is a bully- one which can't even balance it's own budget.

Quote
"Real and personal property [...] are subject to seizure by and forfeiture to the United States."

That's called income tax.

Incidentally, I have a myriad of students eager to see marijuana become legal.

"Awesome!"  I say.  They are going to get involved and think critically about elections, even if the issue is not quite a crucial one!  "For whom will you vote?"

"Obama, nigga."

That's because Obama is a vacuum of policy. He has nothing good to propose, and lost any spine that he had about things like Guantanamo in the campaign. He was kind of a disappointment, but then again, I didn't vote for him.

three of the biggest/largest news papers (net edition) are reporting that Ghadaffi have been taken, and now they are reporting that he might even been killed/murderd, but im not sure i trust them though i have seen picture in the news of showing a bloody guy resembling Ghadaffi, or it might have been him couse it looked like him.... kind of gross though since it was all bloody. Sick,   but that marks probably an end of an era,.. or something...

I guess this didn't work:

On an unrelated note:

Lions and tigers shot in Ohio; owner freed them

"Ohio has some of the nation's weakest restrictions on exotic pets and among the highest number of injuries and deaths caused by them.

On Wednesday, the Humane Society of the United States criticized Gov. John Kasich for allowing a statewide ban on the buying and selling of exotic pets to expire in April."

Regulations are evil.  Didn't you know that?  That kind of ban could interfere with someone trying to profiteer off the buying and selling of exotic animals.  Wink

I agree with you that a lot of laws and regulations are designed to screw the little guy and prop up the big guys.  I think one of my early posts yesterday said as much, about how the laws are designed to protect the aristocracy and step on the little guy.  All that means though is that we need new laws, ones designed to help the little guy and keep the big guy in check, not do away with laws altogether.

Not to start again, but laws will always be done by those in power. And those in power will favour those who can help them the most. Thus, laws will always benefit the powerful ones.

Ya know, if I were a fundamentalist Christian, I'd be getting pretty peeved with this Jesus character about now.  He keeps saying he's coming and then doesn't bother to show up.  Dude, pick a date and stick to it or stop messing with my schedule.
