My wife and I would love to take a Prog Rock cruise.    I surfed the net for hours, finding cruises ranging from Jam band and Jazz to  Backstreet Boys cruises.
Is there anybody out there who knows if there is such a thing as a "prog rock themed ocean cruise?'    Maybe Prog Archives will organize and book a prog cruise someday?

There actually were a couple last winter if I recall.  I want to say that there was one in Europe where Comus was one of the bands.  There was also one in the US that was a prog metal cruise.  I think that Shadow Gallery was one of the bands.

Here is the Shadow Gallery cruise thread.  http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=63643&KW=cruise&PID=3482544#3482544  It was actually from 2 years ago.

Thanks Rushfan.  At least I know such a thing existed in the not so distant past.

It would be so nice if Magma was currently booking passengers on the "iSS Hundin".

^Except that Christian Vander would be prone to throw said passengers at the sea if they didn't "share his vision". And expect macrobiotic buffets aboard.

This is getting dangerously close to an ELP Pirates 'Theme Adventure Cruise' where the only original bandmember on board is Lake and he's just there for the free food.

I just saw an advertisement for this on MMA.  http://www.70000tons.com/  It is a 4 day sea cruise with 40 metal bands; some of them are listed here, although their level of progness is questionable.
Alestorm        Amorphis        Atheist        Cannibal Corpse
Children Of Bodom                    Coroner                    Dark Funeral
Eluveite     God Dethroned     Grave Digger
Hammerfall         In Extremo         Kamelot
Moonsorrow                 My Dying Bride                 Nightwish
Overkill          Pentagram          Pestilence          Riot
Samael          Stratovarius          Suffocation
Tankard               Therion               Tristania

LOL That would be awesome.  Not exactly a relaxing cruise though.

Oh, you can get a nap during the sets of Amorphis or My Dying Bride... (What, me trolling???)

If you bring a fishing pole you might be able to do some trawling.

Um... this looks pretty dank.

I'm gonna have to say I hate being a poor guy trying to be a musician... no I don't. :-P

But I would shell out the money and find a way for SURE if they was an avant-garde cruise or an avant-garde black metal cruise. Sleepytime Gorilla, Secret Chiefs 3, Negura Bunget, Arcturus, Estradasphere, damn it. If this ever happens and you don't tell me I'm going to destroy everything in the world.
