Don't care either way. Mars Volta has the fresher approach, but I'm not a fan of any of the bands.

True this will often of the time be the case. But mostly the amount of support for Symphonic/retro vs. Everything else makes it pre decided. Edited by topographicbroadways - October 12 2011 at 16:01 |

But it is a competition. It really shouldn't be. The most innovative and consistent band in 20 years verses a good retro prog band. The Mars Volta should leave Beardfish in the dust. But no - once again, the PA hoards pile in in droves to vote, when they clearly don't listen to both bands, an important criteria if we're supposed to be judging between the two. Don't just vote for the band you've heard of. If you can only say you listen to one of the two bands, don't vote. You're the reason that this competition is already decided. |

From what I've heard of Beardfish, they're not bad. However, TMV sounds more fresh and exciting with the Latin influences and what not. Also, I don't think Beardfish has anything that can match De-Loused in the Comatorium.

Thanks, but it's another pity that I have never really liked After Crying. My favourite Hungarian band on Progarchives is the jazz fusion band Mindflowers. Great music. www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=998 |

Me too. By the way Mars Volta means The Existence of Mars in Hungarian, but of course it takes no relevance here. |

By the way, what actually means "Mars Volta"?
I know the planet Mars and the Italian scientist Volta naturally, but together it´s without sense for me.
