It definitely is psychedelic and cosmic as LSD hell. I was anxious about the "new sound", but it definitely works.

Remission is the core, pure charcoal, intencity, and heatstroke (fire) Leviathan is fluid, watery, violent and overwhelming (water) Blood Mountin is shifting, tecktonical, hard and bouldering (earth) Crack the Skye is multifaceted, intoxicating, hypnotic and vacuums (aether) the Hunter is a force of pure energy, a quasar, a pulsating cosmic force (cosmic)

Mike Portnoy didn't sue Dream Theater (maybe).

May I inquire as to exactly which Mastodon album I should begin my journey with?

I'm tired of hearing about Portnoy and his stupid problems.

It's honestly your choice. They're all different. Crack the Skye is the least metal of their albums, and Remission is their heaviest.

There'll be a free performance of Mozart's Requiem in D Minor this thursday but I don't like Mozart and can't say I've heard it before. I'll probably be there anyways.
