I prefer THAC0 over universal D20. There, I've said it and I won't take it back. 4th and 3rd editions seem geared toward kids that'd take World of Warcraft over a fully functioning world. Call me a cocaine addict, but that's how I feel. What's up, my brethren?
Obviously they're rules guidebooks and can be changed to fit varying needs, but I'm speaking in general.

2nd Edition all the way!
I don't mind 3.5 though but it's a right pain to level up with.

Seems to me like they care more about 'evenness' rather than 'fantasy realism'. Goshdarn it! Gimmie vagueness and PC creativity! I don't play with alignments, either - it's a social thing, anywho.
Gimmie some o' that 1D4+1 per 3rd level MM! AWGH! Haven't played in ages. I've been jonesin'. Don't have the time. Got a couple fine campaigns I've been wanting to run.
