I was checking on my basement at about 2:30, my sump pump was going about every 10 seconds. There were flash floods not too far from my house, fortunately my immediate neighborhood is in good shape.

At least all of our grass is green. Seriously the city looks like Ireland right now.

Glad to hear Pat and Pat. Though it does seem like the really bad sh*t is farther west. Like Middletown is most vacated now and State College got biblical amounts of rain, though I'm worried about Mtown because the river near them is the Susquehanna and that is not the water I'd want flowing into town OR if TMI floods all that delicious waste can flow around town. Then the zombie apocalypse will break out The grass has indeed gone from brown and death itself to a bright green

........... the hurricane is now heading for myself here in Scotland and will make a landfall on Monday morning. A very severe stormwarning has been issued and everyone here has been adviced to be prepared for the worst.
Hurricane Katie, this one is called.

Storms make their way towards England/Europe often (even as far as Iceland or Norway) but it's usually "extra tropical" by that time, it no longer has tropical characteristics and is pretty much just a bad storm. Though still expected to be 70 mph by the time it gets to Scotland, that is one bad storm! Though I'm sure you've had crazy windstorms before Torodd and speeds like that wont do much damage. I don't know if you guys have had much rain, if so just watch out for falling trees or power lines, if not it'll just be a very windy time Just glad Katia stayed offshore, last thing we need. Supposedly the waves are pretty wicked though, I'm less than an hour from a beach and have no work today....might as well take some videos.

It is always tragic to see someone die, especially in such an agonizing way and I wont pass any judgment w.out info BUT just a lesson...people never seem to be bothered by it but don't drive through water!! You never know how deep it may be and you don't need much moving water to take control of your car.
Said driving to her boyfriend, we don't know the reason but unless it was very important that was not smart of her to do. With these weak storms its never the winds that kill people but flooding, usually because people do stuff like try to go driving through the water. Still very sad indeed Toddler, always hurts when it's close as well.

I have a daughter age 10. I worry about her future as any concerned parent would with their child. In the comment section some people seem to think she made a stupied move while others feel that love is what produced her determination to proceed through the waters. As if to say the heart rules over the mind. Nevertheless it is fool-hearted to allow emotions of great magnitude to rule over logic. I would prefer to keep my daughter from making bad decisions such as this. She is only 10 years away from being this girl's age. This Romeo and Juliet crap is no different from the husband who neglects his family for his overly ambitious career. Both of these acts are defined in the psychiatric world as an act of insanity.

I mean it's not even that deep Todd...just don't f**king drive through deep water Not to be so cold but it's like the people that willingly stay behind in bad hurricanes....we see it every time. Same thing, it's always sad when it happens, but if you're doing stuff like that you risk your life.

Well, you know what I mean. You teach her not to drive through deep water and years later along comes this punk out of a romance novel who influences her not to think clearly.
