I remember when Opeth signed to Roadrunner and the fanboys were freaking out.

I remember when Roadrunner was the biggest and most important death metal label around. They had some good death metal albums. Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Brutality, Gorguts, Sepultura.

^ I kinda agree.....but again I don't care. I go to Vancouver, BC a lot and I try and buy Rush albums there on the Anthem label........although Mercury is fine.

Hopefully the label doesn't try anything stupid.... they've tried to commercialize Opeth, Pocupine Tree, and Dream Theater way too much.

In more breaking news: Canadian prog rockers, Rush have renamed their groundbreaking 19th record, "Clockwork Morbid Angels!" When asked why, a spokesman for the band responded, "we feel the reworked title has a more commercial ring to it and better represents the fresh new direction the band is taking." Also announced is a guest appearance by Sir Mikael Ĺkerfeldt of the Opeth fame in his triumphant return to his death metal roots on the albums eponymous track, which will also serve as the magnum opus of the band's nearly half a century spanning career. The track is said to be an eighty minute epic and is now being edited to a "comfortable" three minute format as to reach a broader audience.

My guess is the only thing they will do is convince them (or maybe its part of the deal already) to release a bunch of compilations, best ofs and so on.
Commercialization of Porcupine Tree is not working.......everybody thinks I am talking about a new kind of fruit tree in my yard.

Rush commercialized themselves in 1980 and has continually done so. I'm not complaining.

Well, if they continue in the vein of Vapor Trails and the A side of Snakes & Arrows then I'm happy with the decision. Maybe Paul Northfield could work with them again
