Only a few days ago a couple were caught having sex in public in a Norwegian town. They only got a warning. If one of them had been a police officer, it would probably have been a big scandal.

We tolerate many things among animals that we do not tolerate among humans. That's not really the best way to defend your position. That's not really the problem though. The problem is that the cop gets a paid holiday while it's determined that no crime was committed. The regular Joe is brought to trial or fined for the same offense.
