Ninjas are Japanese, not Corean, you silly Anglo. Wink LOL

LOL

Also, I'm assuming Korean in Portuguese is Corean, because in English it's Korean Tongue

it was Corea in English as well, but the Japanese, during the country's ocupation, changed its name in the romanji (the romanized japanese writing) alphabet from Corea to Korea to lower them even more: even through alphabet order they would come after Japan.

That's yet another humiliation the Coreans had to endure (and still endure) in the hands of the Japanse during the nearly fourty years of ocupation (together with mass murdering, active destruction of local habits and culture, replacing it for the Japanese culture and habits and other stuff nobody remembers).

I understand the Japanese occupied Korea, and I understand they humiliated the people, but I've never heard of the Japanese changing the name of the country.

Well, it's one of those things . . . Korea was Corea, Brasil was Brazil (even in Portuguese), etc. Nothing really changed concerning pronunciation, but it's different still. The difference is that Korea endured that during ocupation and since the US was Japan's BFF nobody deared to change that (at least in the English language).

I've known Brazil as Brasil too, it seem the same to me (although I'm partial to the z) but Korea with a C just seems wrong to me LOL

It was called "Brazil" about a century ago. That written form of the name is archaic.

Not really.  I just don't like the letter Zed that much.  I hate the letter Zee even more. Wink

We don't use the Z as much in England.  So although Brazil is the more correct way of spelling Brazil, I prefer Brasil.  At the end of the day, I've always known the city as Brasilia not Brazilia.
