Also, I'm assuming Korean in Portuguese is Corean, because in English it's Korean

it was Corea in English as well, but the Japanese, during the country's ocupation, changed its name in the romanji (the romanized japanese writing) alphabet from Corea to Korea to lower them even more: even through alphabet order they would come after Japan. That's yet another humiliation the Coreans had to endure (and still endure) in the hands of the Japanse during the nearly fourty years of ocupation (together with mass murdering, active destruction of local habits and culture, replacing it for the Japanese culture and habits and other stuff nobody remembers). |

I understand the Japanese occupied Korea, and I understand they humiliated the people, but I've never heard of the Japanese changing the name of the country.

Correct. It was originally the cover for the original edition of the novel: But has since become the emblem of the musical.

That sounds about right. I've seen Corea flags at International Football matches, so indeed, Corea is correct.
