crossover, spastic shoegazeing with neck braking timesigs, like mathcore fused with shoegaze, which ends up becomin mathgaze, to say more acurate Mew plays their totaly own genre they have a totaly individual sound. their albums work most from album format, you get sucked in to their enchated musical chords and arpegios,
Mew is a great band. Frengers has some real gems on it but is somewhat scattered and not the most focused release. And the Glass Handed Kites seems more unified and has a much bigger and classier sound. I don't like every song on either album, but I really like the majority of the songs on both. Haven't heard the new one, didn't even know they released one! I have to check that out.
