You're better than Austin (Horizons) who refuses to even read one.

If Austin even glanced at this conversation he would die.

Nope. The most I've ever was some Stanescu and Plath.

Really? I used to love books, I read all of the Magic Treehouse books, and the entire Pendragon series (I finished the last book in <2 weeks), but I never read Harry Potter (nor have I seen the movies) LOL.

The idea was that the people couldn't revolt or think freely or anything because they simply didn't have the vocabulary to express anything Big Brother didn't want you able to.

I have a scary number of friends who not only cried at the last movie (my friend and I laughed through most of it) and have read all 7 books some 5 or 6 times. I found them minorly entertaining, but nothing more.

That's why its vocab decreased and they were trying to obliterate Oldspeak.

f**k The Fountainhead, it's not hard to read, it's a best-seller, it's just too goddamn long. You're right about Animal Farm, though, that's not hard either. Try something that's actually difficult to get through, like Russian literature or Heart of Darkness or w**ker philosophers like Proust. The best would be to pretend you understand Finnegan's Wake, except that nobody would believe you.

Yea, the Fountianhead isn't the deepest most incredibly mindf**king book out there, but it's still damn good.

I'm reading the Sophocles version.
