Really? I used to love books, I read all of the Magic Treehouse books, and the entire Pendragon series (I finished the last book in <2 weeks), but I never read Harry Potter (nor have I seen the movies)  .

I have a scary number of friends who not only cried at the last movie (my friend and I laughed through most of it) and have read all 7 books some 5 or 6 times. I found them minorly entertaining, but nothing more.

f**k The Fountainhead, it's not hard to read, it's a best-seller, it's just too goddamn long. You're right about Animal Farm, though, that's not hard either. Try something that's actually difficult to get through, like Russian literature or Heart of Darkness or w**ker philosophers like Proust. The best would be to pretend you understand Finnegan's Wake, except that nobody would believe you.
