Letterman has Bono and The Edge on last night to promote Spider-Man. I think that it was probably a re-run, I just happened to tune in as I remembered this thread. I forgot if it was for this week or next week that was going to be drummer week. Anyhow, my comment falls under "who cares" but I thought I would share it anyways. Hopefully I remember to tune in for next week. Harrison, Copeland, and Chambers are all fabulous drummers.

Anybody catch prog's Porcupine Tree drummer performing a solo on David Letterman last night (8/23)? It's "drum solo" week on the program and Gavin did a great job of tearing it up. Nice to see him get the recognition he deserves.

Wow - I will wait for it to crop up on youtube soon! Gavin rocks. I met the guys when they played at Bombay, India. Day 1, me and my friend primarily spent drinking with Steven and Colin. Richard kept popping in and out while Gavin retired early. Day 2, after the concert, he spent some time with us. We got Richard an Indian harmonium (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c9/Harmonium.jpg/200px-Harmonium.jpg) and Richard ripped it apart wanting to see the insides of it and then started playing it. Gavin spent some time with us on the 2nd day but was maybe less communicative than the others. I have a pic of Richard playing the harmonium. Will put it up some day :-)

I watched Letterman specifically to see him. He was very good. The only Porcupine Tree album I have heard with him on it is In Absentia but I'm excited to listen to their other work.

Loved his performance, was pleased to see him do that move where he licks his thumb and rubs it along the drum head. Can't wait to see Stewart Copeland and the percussive genius that is Dennis Chambers.
