^ BTW, going to see them live in 2.5 hours. And that's for free!
Listening to these guys for the first time right now. This is really great stuff; right up my alley from the 2 songs I've heard so far ("Funky dla Franki" and "Crazy Shepherd") Which album would you recommend the most? That's awesome that their still together and you got to see them! How was it?
Hi. I'm glad You like them. Their gig on Saturday was one of the gigs during the Jazz In The Old Town Festival in Warsaw which takes place for the 17th time now. There's a gig on the main place of the Old Town every Saturday in July and August. And all the gigs are free!
The gig was really great. The current line-up of Laboratorium comprises of three out of five original members plus two new members (guitarist and drummer). They mentioned even something about releasing a new album (that would be the first one for 25 years!) and played one new track. And after the gig they signed my box-set!
As for album recommendations my personal favourite is the above album (Modern Pentathlon), mainly for the 20 min. title track (in Polish: Pięciobój nowoczesny). Next four (Aquarium Live, Diver, Quasimodo and Nogero) are very good too. Last three (The Blue Light Pilot, No. 8 and Anatomy Lesson) do less for me (but that may change when I listen to them again).
