I recommend sailing away as fast as you can.
Hah! Or just stay in port! I've already bought Jon Anderson tickets, he's playing at a lovely, small theater just up the road from my house.
I already passed on B. David's Yes when they performed at Chicago House of Blues, what a letdown from the 35th Anniversary Tour (sold out at one of our largest venues, the Allstate Arena!).
How the mighty have fallen.....Puppet Show, Styx, Yes....not necessarily in that order.
I saw Styx in 1974, they were okay, but not as good as some of the other local bands (Starcastle, Head East etc.) I shudder to think about what this mess will look like on tour!
By the way, I've heard that Frank Gambale and Chick Corea's Electrick band are going on tour, with Zappa Plays Zappa as backup! I'll gladly buy tickets for that one, thanks!! ZPZ is outstanding, highly recommended.

I personally think this is a great double bill, both acts are great live. I always liked Styx, they managed to straddle the rock and prog worlds more successfully than most. JY and Tommy Shaw are great guitarists, who most on this site don't give their due!! I also like the addition of Gowan from my country:) Any band would kill to have one good vocalist nevermind three!!

They are playing here tonight. I decided today not to go though. I love both bands in whatever their makeup, but the temperature is exceeding 95 degrees today and that is just too damn hot for anything.

Probably a wise choice, although from reviews, it is a somewhat brief show, considering two bands!
This video is from Jon Anderson's acoustic performance last night, I think his voice is in perfect form!! Seek this one out if you can, I'm seeing him in Illinois on Aug. 5th at a nice, indoor (air-conditioned) theater!

very impessive singing!
Not as recent but saw an openly nervous Anderson at the Greek Theater 10 years ago for the Magnification tour, and he sang like a freakin' angel. Missed last fall's acoustic tour when the ol' lady told me there were'nt enough funds in the kids' college fund change jar for me to do so. Damn. I won't be denied in the future. And for Styx, some stylish keyboard doodlings in Come Sail Away, but the rest can be delegated to cornball, rock 'n roll Americana drivel.

The video of Starship Trooper is even more hilarious. He doesn't know what to do with the guitar they gave him during the song.
Haw! Thanks, Crimhead! For comparison, check this out.....here's a Yes vocalist who knows how to sling a guitar onstage!! (I saw this tour twice, could have seen it three times but missed out, grrrrr! It was GREAT!!)

MAKE IT STOP!!!
God, how did Yes manage to turn up these Buggles in the first place??? If they needed production, they could have turned to Brian Eno, or Todd Rundgren, or ANYONE!! Hell, Frank Zappa would have been cool!!

I took my daughter to the show when they played Red Rocks this summer. She's 14 and it was her first concert. So yeah, my daughter (named Kayleigh) went to her very first concert at Red Rocks (we live in the Chicago area), and it was Yes and Styx. Ya gotta admit that is pretty cool. Even cooler? She is now a Yes fan. Know what is even cooler? She's angry with me because I am deciding to buy the new Discipline album over the Glass Hammer one. So, whether or not the new version of Yes is as good as the old is a bit of a moot point for some, as it is converting some kids.
