I've also been playing a ton of Rome: Total War lately, great game although I'd forgotten how hard it was to get in to.
Some companies/DRM totally f**k the paying customer over. Steam is kinda bad in some ways, but since I only really buy during sales it doesn't bother me and their DRM is fairly non-invasive IMO.
Also, gog.com is the site for old games. All DRM free, for 2-3 dollars.

Also also, new games are literally 110$ here for consoles, so digital distribution can ease that pain.

gog.com sounds like another website I'll have to check out, but I usually only use a SNES and NES emulator.

Was it just me, or was/is there a super distinct smell that came out of N64 cartridges when you blew into them?

Yeah, it's still a great game, but the level scaling/some of the animations stick out like a sore thumb now.
Skyrim is pretty much gonna consume my entire life, though.

I've actually reinstalled about 9 or 10 older games these last few weeks. Good times, good nostalgia.

That's where some aspects of Fallout 3 have improved, graphics, and the leveling system i enjoy as well. Though i haven't compared the two in detail.

Also Skyrim is going to be so embarrassing for me to play, seeing i'll be on it 24/7.
