Topic: Atomic Rooster Vs. Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come Posted: July 06 2011 at 00:11 |
Vincent Crane and Carl Palmer left the Crazy World of Arthur Brown and formed Atomic Rooster.
Arthur Brown went on to form Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come around the same time. Which band do you prefer?

Arthur Brown is my favourite current crazy old man, so I voted for him. Atomic Rooster is something I never found overwhelmingly appealing.

Not really sure what the purpose of that comment is. Carl Palmer didn't want to leave Atomic Rooster and its well known that Greg Lake virtually bullied him into joining up with him and Emerson.

Arthur Brown´s Kingdom Come for me. Great band featuring evil vocals, some pretty weird sections bordering on avant gard, tripped out spacerock along with symphonics to boot. Galactic Zoo and Journey are both albums I listen to on a regular basis, whereas I seem to forget Death walks behind you and I hearing of.... Atomic Rooster were indeed a brilliant heavy group, and I think Vincent Crane never really got the respect he deserved. He was a monster on that hammond organ!

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown is one of my favorite records, but Kingdom Come never reached the same level of brilliance. I vote for Atomic Rooster because it has more Vincent Crane, who is amazing.

A hard choice. Galactic Zoo Dosier is (IMO) the best album by the two bands, but Rooster had more good songs. Went with Kingdom Come in the end.

Creep / Gypsy Escape from Galactic Zoo Dossier (1971), and Time Captains and Gypsy from Journey (1973) top anything Atomic Rooster did in my oppinion, but I do like em both. My vote goes to Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come...

Much as I like Death Walks Behind You, it's not at the same level as Galactic Zoo Dossier for me (and I like the other Kingdom Come albums). .

With all due respect to Atomic Rooster, who I like, Galactic Zoo Dossier just decimates anything AR ever could have even thought of doing.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Rooster made a lot more albums than Kingdom Come but they never made one as endearingly deranged and original as Galactic Zoo Dossier so I voted for Arthur.
