Back to Abel's Collages for one second, I kind of wonder how this same logic of thinking applies to PA, MMA, and JMA.  Afterall, we use images of the album covers for each of the albums and pictures of the artists on each artist's page.   In essence, this site offers free marketing to each of the music artists, but not to the album cover artists, as there is no reference to who the album cover artist is on the album pages.  I wonder to what extent that the album cover artists could come after M@x for using their images without permission.

Bosses don't like people quoting lyrics in the forum, so I wonder what the legalities are regarding album artwork, but I never ask because I don't want to see a crackdown on that.

I guess they could make a case if they really wanted to, but really, no one is making money directly because the album art is featured here, as is the case of the collage - a database is a different beast.  If you think about it, places like RYM would have the same issue if it were really a problem.

I actually do assume sites like Amazon selling the actual albums have all the appropriate permissions, but I don't know for sure.

An Anatomy Of by BTBAM has some really cool songs covered.  I didn't realize that it was a covers album when I bought it.  I through it in the CD player for the first time last night, and the first couple of notes were like, "damn, this sounds like Metallica"...  turns out it was Blackened. LOL

Hey Scott, could you move this thread to Prog News for me?

I don't know if Site Montiors can do that here.

I suppose that I probably threw it in since it didn't go all of the way through.

I really likes Branns answer to the question and to the bewilderment from the interveiw and the replay from Brann

What musicians blow your mind?
My friend Dave Witte, who plays for Burnt By The Sun. He makes me look at things differently, drumming-wise. I don't pay attention to new music as much as I should. I listen to a lot of old stuff. I'm having a lot of fun getting the first King Crimson records. I like old Genesis. Phil Collins: He's super up my alley on drums.

Really?
Yah! I've stolen quite a bit from Phil Collins. He's killer. Every little accent he throws in there. It just hits my ear and I'm like "Yes! Like that!"

He definitely sounds like he's foreign, I don't really know what to think of him. Warning him is pointless now because he's ignoring everything all you other guys are saying.

To quote Mark Twain: I gave no sh*t, because I'm dead. Cool
