If I was just copying and pasting images them why isn't everyone doing itif it was that simple? and why fans want my collages? If you really take a real close to all my collage you will notice a lot different in almost all the images.I dont want to grag but it isn't just copying ans pasting it actually a lot fphoto editing and having the artistic eye. I edited 99% of them and I make my own background from none bands albums images. I work countless of hours believe me you guys don't have no idea what I doing and because you can't see what I am doing you guys only see black and white not colors.

I do feel bad for him because I know that he works hard on those collages.  Personally, I think that he does a great job on them and I do enjoy seeing his work.  Yes, they are a bit busy with all of the images that he includes, but that doesn't deter my enjoyment of them.  I've also expressed my concern to him a few times that he could get into legal trouble with his collages as a result of using the copyrighted images.  Doing it for fun and as a hobby is one thing, but selling posters and shirts with the images on them is another.  Most likely he is never going to get rich creating these collages but I do think that if the wrong person comes along with a beef he could find himself with some legal issues.   Odds are unless he strikes it rich somehow, the artists can sue him all they want but if he has no money to pay them they aren't going to get any money from him.  Bad part is the cost he would have to incur to hire attorneys to defend him.

If he's truly poor (no assets, liquid or otherwise), he'd be judgment proof, and someone would be foolish to try to take him to court.  But still.

I genuinely like his work, but his smug naivete is ridiculous.

Yes, his indignation at people who "steal" his collages when he didn't pay a single dime to anyone for the original artwork is just so much fail.

Yeah Alex, that made me laugh too. I was willing to give him some slack that maybe he was referring to people sharing the high res files you need to "buy", but on his blog he makes it very clear he considers people using the copies he posts on PA without donating stealing, unbelievable.

I have to admit I have thought about that too, but they would probably pay as much attention to you as they did to his supposed efforts to contact them.

He's been selling the prints for years now, although I think they were originally $10. I think I've been occasionally annoying him about copyright since, but I don't remember and I am too lazy to . He's started selling sh*tty t-shirts too, although I can't easily find the link for the right now. The sad thing is that he can actually draw, but he chooses to spend his time on explosions of purple instead.

I heard somewhere that his Rush collage was used in the Rush documentary video.  Sadly I have not watched that yet so I am not 100% sure of this.  At any rate, I wonder if they paid him for its use or if they just used it.

The third Epignosis album will be a sonic collage of excerpts from King Crimson, Yes, Van der Graaf Generator, The Mars Volta, and Pink Floyd songs.  I'll add some EQ and compression and maybe a flange effect here and there.

Sure they could still take him to court, the people in the RIAA suits didn't have any money, and neither did the Kind of Bloop guy. That's why the good Lord created debt. ;-)

Personally, I don't understand how people like his collages and I have to wonder how many people posting in his thread were always just being polite, but I guess that's neither here nor there.

His shirt is in the "official Gentle Giant store", but that website uses the Wikipedia layout could it seriously be legit?

Besides, even if there were a huge judgment passed against him, there is also the possibility of bankruptcy.

And I do like most of his work- I enjoy the integration of bold colors.  I'm simpleminded, you see.

Yeah, I don't know. But the lawyers still need to be paid. ;-)
