I hope not. I don't think it's a bad song, but it doesn't live up to the Opeth standard in my eyes... or to my ears, whatever makes more sense. |

Probably not because it has electric guitars and we all know electric guitars = extreme raw brutal death metal. |

Has this song been mentioned here yet? I wonder if Heritage will be stylistically similar to this.

This type of criticism is common in regards of Orchid, but I can't seem to relate to it. Personally, I find Orchid as a perfect, coherent, and sincere expression of art. It's a wild beast, as opposed to their later albums that progressively (no pun intended) became more tame. |

I like certain songs off Orchid, but quite frankly the songwriting is very immature and borders on being incoherent on that record. Every time I listen to it, I think while the songs have individually cool sections, the sections do not belong together.

Nothing they did comes close to the raw, organic brilliance of Orchid.

Best example would be the first half of Masters Apprentice, which he completely ruins with his incessant hammering on the kick drum. If he'd actually listened to what the others were doing that would have been a killer track. |

Lopez's drumming on Deliverance is nothing short of brilliant. |

I've heard Dream Theater, so I"m fully able to judge terrible music, and St. Anger is terrible.

Don't forget that Dan Swano, and close friend of Mikael, produced their early albums!
Point is: Mikael, Swano and Wilson have a musical three way that I wish I could be part of |

IDK, I have red a rumor somewhere that Wilson was gay, though I couldn't confirm that. I can live with them being just friends, though. |
