Got my new shoes in the mail today, just took them out for a quick run. Certainly different to traditional trainers although it felt way more natural overall. Definitely gonna look into more minimal shoes later.

Been on a bulk for 2 weeks now for lifting, noticed considerable gains in a super short time. Might keep it up for longer than I originally planned then cut later.
New shoes are absolutely brilliant couldn't be more than happy with them. I have noticed they're a lot more harsh on the legs overall, but I'm guessing I'll get used to that. Also went for a barefoot run for about 1km today, feet felt fine after although now they're super itchy.

I'm about to go running with some Ghostface.
I recently saw this Eastern girl my age running through the neighborhood, so maybe she'll see me as I saw her.
More people need to continue this! Speaking of which, it's been nice and now that the week is back, deff going for a jog tomorrow. Can't break the shirtless trend now, it gives me motivation. Whenever I wanna stop just look at my belly

It's damn cold here, getting to be horrible to go running at all. I always get horrible sinus infections when I'm out in the cold too. No fun.

I just got back from a nice run with a new album screaming in my ears:
Thrash gets me so pumped.
Oh, Joel, I got Defeater's Lost Ground EP, and I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for the recommendation, bro man.
I've never really gotten into any thrash myself, this sounds pretty good though.
Good to hear man I'm absolutely loving Defeater. Saw them live earlier this year, awesome live show too. Empty Days and Sleepless Nights is worth checking out as well (the same concept as Travels, retold from another perspective.)

Good to hear bro Without trying to derail this thread too much, I'll also recommend you check out Miles Away (particularly Endless Roads) and Touché Amoré (Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me is great, my album of the year so far).

I've been feeling super fatigued lately, and I've only been running a total of about 12 miles per week. I guess I should eat more, or run less, or something else - I don't even know. All I know is that I consistently feel like crap. I'll probably still go out for a few miles tonight. I've started running at 8 pm because they days are just way too hot.

Urghhh... ankle and shin pain today after barely 4km today.
Adjusting to the +30 celcius temps after months of running at around 15-20 degrees tops is tougher than I remembered. Phewww... Anyone has tricks besides staying hydrated?
I'm not going to take the risk of running after sundown, so I get the feeling I'll have to wake up really early all summer long.

How many hours have you been sleeping for? I find that with pretty much any form of exercise, losing just 1 or 2 hours of sleep a night really screws me over the next day. Are you having any pre/post workout meals? I generally have a banana about an hour before I go running for the extra energy.
Also, remember, taking a week off for rest and working from there never hurt anyone either. You'll probably be better relaxing until you feel better, then getting back into it, than feeling crap and making little to no progress for a month.

I usually sleep anywhere from 4-6 hours. My post-workout meal is always just a whey protein shake, and I usually eat an apple about 1 hour before I start working out.
I have trouble taking a week for rest, because I'm very paranoid. Last week I took off 4 days from cardio, and I only do 30-50 minutes of exercise each day anyway.

Besides staying hydrated, just dress lightly and make sure you're breathing steadily.

A little extension on the hydration. Make sure you keep consuming fluids within the 1 to hour and half post exercise. It's a general rule of thumb you're supposed to replace 1 and half times the amount of fluids (salts, et cetera) lost while exercising.
Color, I assume your working/school as well? I'd try getting a bit more sleep (if possible), and look at your diet a little. I was in a similar situation (tho' I was doing 140-150k a week) a couple of months ago, and really focused on cleaning up my diet. I found this went a long way. Making sure I was eating foods with longer sustaining energy as I was relying on stuff like chocolate for sugar hits then having massive downs afterwards. In the end it was just simple stuff like have blueberries with breakfast, more fresh fruit and vegetables, and being conscious in fueling myself with high protein foods like yoghurt after sessions, cutting coffee intake to one in the morning (which still close to a quadruple shot).

^ Yeah, that makes sense. After today's run, I really felt still thirsty
even an hour later, so I think I just need to listen to my body.
Speaking of salts (kinda digressing from running here)... I've generally been avoiding all those sport drink type things, but I have a belt event at karate in two weeks and I've thinking about getting something like that, but I'm not sure what would be best. I've never done runs longer than 12km, so I've been sticking to water, but jogging is really not as muscular as karate. So I'm hoping for recommendations.
The last one I had lasted about 4 hours, and I was totally exhausted when it was time to do the fights (after the kion and the katas), despite having eaten dried fruit and 2 granola bars during the (very short) breaks. Suggestions?
