The Eternal Twilight and Circadian Eyes are both really good.

Oh, and we're playing a show in Baltimore at the Charm City Art Space with Sunlight Ascending and The End of the Ocean on June 27th. I know you've heard of Sunlight, but The End of the Ocean is equally as fantastic. If you're free you should go! Also, pre-orders of our physical album (remastered by a Swedish producer) will be available soon. The new masters put the old recordings to shame.

Pre-orders for our album. It has been re-mastered, professionally this time, by audio genius Sebastian Lonberg.

Was glad to see a lot of great bands mentioned here... Russian Circles, And So I Watch You From Afar, This Will Destroy You, Toe, and Maybeshewill are all fantastic.

I'd like to heap some love onto Caspian. This remastered album is phenomenal, maybe even better than their new LP: http://caspiantheband.bandcamp.com/album/you-are-the-conductor-the-four-trees-remastered

3nd is another awesome Japanese post-rock band, here's a taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gshFivLpoio

My favorite post-metal is still Rosetta, all three of their albums are among my favorites..

Just bought Russian Circles' Enter. I can tell after two listens that it won't be easy digesting it. Smile I'm excited for that nonetheless. And a question... How is that considered post rock? I've associated posty stuff with Sigur Ros and stuff like that. Russian Circles is nothing like that. just wondering.

It's not considered Post Rock. It's Math Rock (with a good dose of Post Rock, truth be told).

Have fun with it. For me it was love at first listen. Smile

I've been listening to post-rock artists for the last 6 months now and I am in complete awe. I have nothing but complete adoration for this genre of music. My favorite artists so far:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Mogwai
downy
Mono
Pelican
Do Make Say Think

And I'm finally warming up to Explosions in the Sky.

OMG a thread about post rock/metal and math rock and I missed it!?

Not as endeavored with math rock but I love me some post rock and metal.
GY!BE and This Will Destroy You are my 2 fav post rock bands, and of course the classics like Explosions in the Sky and Oceansize. I have one album by the band Maserati and it is one of the best things I've heard in a long time. Amazing stuff.

As for the metal side: Pelican, Isis, Cult of Luna are the tops : D
