Disconnect is an American prog duo consisting of:
Erich O'Dell (me): guitars, bass, keyboards, voices Brian Eschrich: drums, percussion We've played music together for 20 years and Disconnect is the latest incarnation of our collaborative efforts. We officially formed in December 2009 and, since that time, have now written & recorded three full-length albums as well as an EP (all available as streaming audio here at Prog Archives). Our newest album is entitled "Indivision" and was released on May 24th, 2011. It is a concept album which is intended to be heard as a single piece of music (although the tracks are separated, they flow together without any breaks, etc). The album's theme is centered around the passage of time and its ability to induce self-discovery. Instrumentally we feel it is our most complex and truly 'progressive' effort to date. The songs from "Indivision" are available as streaming audio on the main page here at Prog Archives, and also on our artist page at Prog Archives at the following link: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6100 And you can also check us out on the web at the following: CDBaby Artist Portal site: http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/Disconnect MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/disconnecttheband Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Disconnect/208219292550441 "Indivision" is also available for purchase at the iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/indivision/id440947302 ....as well as Amazon.com as an MP3 download: http:// www.amazon.com/Indivision/dp/B00538GPR6/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306760301&sr=301-1 Physical CDs of "Indivision" will be available through our artist portal at CDBaby.com: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/disconnect3 We are very proud of "Indivision" and are hoping that we can get some feedback from the community on this latest release. Many thanks in advance! Edited by SuperHokie - June 02 2011 at 17:30 |

Hoping to get some more reviews - we're willing to provide review copies to anyone who is interested, just let me know. The low bitrate streaming mp3s here at PA probably don't do the new album justice in terms of sound quality.

a small update, "Indivision" should be available later this week for listening on Aural Moon (http://auralmoon.com/), the internet's premier prog rock radio site. We hope to get a featured spot on an upcoming edition of their "New Moon On Monday" show, where we have been featured three times previously for our prior albums.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

In the interest of generating more review activity, I've uploaded a 320kbps rip of "Indivision" to Mediafire where anyone willing to give it a try can download the whole album for free - and in better quality than the audio available here at PA. The streaming feed here at PA doesn't really do the album justice in terms of sound quality....in my humble opinion.

Thanks Sheavy.....thanks to you as well, Conor!
on another topic...can any PA members enlighten me to this whole concept of "driveby" 1-star ratings? I've seen our new album get a couple of these 'driveby' 1-star ratings and am quite puzzled. If someone despises an album enough to give it only 1-star....can they not back it up with a text review to show us all why they think it is so bad? Also it seems the PA members who have given us (and other Crossover Prog artists on PA) these driveby 1-star ratings are the same people who give 5-star ratings to every Experimental/Post-Metal and Tech/Extreme Prog Metal album out there. So the obvious question that comes to mind is.....if you're obviously not a fan of Crossover Prog and your tastes are diametrically opposite to that genre -- why bother posting ratings for that genre at all if your only intention is to bash? Driveby 1-star ratings can really kill the momentum for an indie prog band who might have otherwise been able to attract some curious listeners. I can completely respect anyone's opinion if they feel that the album is really only worth 1-star....provided they have the conviction to back up that 1-star rating with an actual review, explaining why it deserved that rating. At least then we can be sure they actually took the time to listen. ....end of rant....sorry, folks. Just needed to get that off my chest.... Edited by SuperHokie - July 04 2011 at 16:37 |
