I thought I would provide a brief list of 10 non-prog albums/bands that would be worth listening to, if you fancy a change:

  1. Sunny Day Real Estate - The Rising Tide
  2. Chamberlain - Fate's Got a Driver
  3. Mineral - EndSerenading
  4. The Gloria Record - A Lull in Traffic
  5. yourcodenameis:milo - ignoto
  6. Mew - frengers
  7. The Fire Theft - s/t
  8. Million Dead - Harmony No Harmony
  9. Biffy Clyro - Infinityland
  10. Cave In - Antenna

Check them out on allmusic.com if you fancy finding out a little more first...enjoy!

Sunny Day were awesome and captivating.  The Fire Theft are crafting a similar reputation...

Nice list Spectral, personally I'd go for 'A Song To Ruin' by Million Dead instead if you're interested.

Also check out Miss Machine by Dilling Escape Plan and Team Sleep

I can't remember what I said
I lost my head.

I agree with you TOOL fans.  I am only familiar with a very small amount and am to unfamiliar to make my mind up about them but am damn sure they're progressive metal....more than most flying that banner I'd say!

A Perfect Circle, now there's a good non-prog band especially album numero uno

I thought Kate Bush pretty much was prog...(In her way) ?

I can't remember what I said
I lost my head.

Yes, but in spite of several attempts she is still not listed in the Archives. So, until the moment she finally will be here, I will obediently list her under non-prog.
