"Lonely Boy" was riding high on the charts when I first started becoming majorly aware of popular music. Call me crazy, but I liked "Lonely Boy". "Thank You For Being a Friend", not so much. |

Sad news, he wrote some good pop songs. "Never Let Her Slip Away" is a goodie.

Sorry to hear this. He was a major contributor to Linda Ronstadt's classic albums of the early 70s.

Lonely Boy is a great song. I suspect it might have provided some inspiration to Supertramp for the song Goodbye Stranger which has a similar feel to it to my ears.
