I'm really the only one who thinks the MMA design is better and not nearly as clunky and ugly as PA? Oh well. I do agree the forum skins are blah, though.

i'd also have preferred it, but I don't know if it was possible with the "album tag" feature
in some ways, the single-genre-belonging of PA is its (only??) Achille's heel.
(besides the specialist teams barony, but that's an internal thing most casual users wouldn't know about)

and yes.... if black background forum for MMA sounds reasonable.... Blue would be better-suited for jazz >> Blue Note label...

I'm still having trouble to load up entry pages with many entries in JMA (mostly Miles & Herbie).
does anyone have that problem too???

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

Well that's really something for the JMA forum, but since nobody posts there I guess it's ok. ;-) It works fine for me (although JMA Miles did seem to chug a little more than PA Miles, that Opera tells me the PA page has 192 elements while JMA's has 337 might have something to do with it), are you sure it isn't your internet?

it does the same thing both at home and at work (different countries), so i gather it's not the server
loading the Miles PA page takes around seconds... loading the JMA equivalent takes five or six times that long (at best), and I can't do anything else on the web while loading it (like it's jammed)....
ditto for Hancock.... but I think they're the only pages to do that.

Multi-tagging and half stars are great but they're not a layout issue. M@x said in the past that there's no technical impediment to prevent him from implementing them on PA too.

I like how everyone assumes this thread is about the forum layout. No, the main site layout, which is horrible on PA

Not really; Karl mentioned it, and he got two people supporting his stand. That's not everyone. And Karl mentioned the black forums making it clear that it's something different than site layout, so he didn't make any wrong assumption.

I'll agree that the fancy search is better, but the regular search isn't as good, and the layout seems poor to me. Crap is just everywhere, it's cluttered

Yeah, there are a fair number of aspects of PA that I think are extremely unprofessional, but I've complained about them and very few of the members seem to care, much less Max, so I guess they will never be changed.
Since andy let me I am going to chose to blame the Dream Theater Bad Taste Brigade for this.

A bit closed minded, its just a website not a historical institution If one prefers PA style than cool, but to keep it just because? I think MMA has done a few things right and maybe JMA even more. I'm glad there's discussion to maybe improve PA! It wont happen

I prefer the PA functionality, but I do think that PA needs an upgraded look. It's starting to look a bit dated.
