SnowPat, I'm not sure if you'll like Spontaneous Music Ensemble or not. It all depends if you're a fan of AMM and free jazz. I'd say check some of their stuff out though.

I just found out Fair to Midland are doing an album release party/show in Madison this July. I can still get meet n' greet passes for 36 dollars. I am so doing this.

Not sure. He likes Devin Townsend, TesseracT and Periphery . But he also likes stuff like Seether, KMFDM, Ill Nino, Skindred, Bowling for Soup, Dream Theater, Panic Cell, Deicide, Anal c**t, Melvins, Death, Dimmu Borgir and Godsized.

Oh balls, I just realized: The day before the CD release party/show with Fair to Midland is the Animals as Leaders/Intronaut/Dead Letter Circus/Last Chance to Reason/Evan Brewer show in Chicago. Oh my god. That's got to be the most f*cking incredible weekend ever.

Yes, it's a djent group, but I can guarantee you will like them a lot more than Periphery. Their vocalist is much better, and they have a permanent sax player and jizztastic keyboards.
