I know that Iron Maiden is not generally considered prog, but it has interesting similarities to Ghostship.

Well, if they really chose "The Ancient Mariner" as lyrics, as the title suggests, then at least the lyrics are prog. This wild poem by Coleridge supplies good lyrics for any prog epic.

Very far away from Coleridge...

Anyway, I like that song... (not as much as King Crimson's instrumental Sailor's Tale)

If you know other maritime epics, please do tell! After some time, I'd make another poll with more alternatives, if you like

Whaling Stories from Procol Harum.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I don't think Iron Maiden is a prog' band, but Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner is 100% prog' and as Bald Jean said, the lyrics by Colleridge are simply breathtaking, like it more than most Poe's work.

But Iván, the lyrics of the song are not by Coleridge: they are based on Coleridge's poem, and even take some verses from it, but for the most part they are very different...

How about Storms and Mutiny by Magellan?  A great prog classic and a history lesson all rolled up into one!

Well, by album title, here's an obvious choice

Tales ... is a concept album, not an epic.
