C.O.D. Performance is quite weak.  It's a bit of a cod performance, in fact.

Lol

What's new with you, James, by the way? It's been a while.

Trice! Not much, enjoying summer after a busy semester of working and my last classes of my undergrad. Been listening to tons of music, of course, and other such things (reading, Bioshock, etc.), keeping myself occupied. Also! You should read the last post on the previous page; I'm trying to get the old mafia crew back together again now that I have the time to host---there's a link there as well.

How about you?

Haha.

Any new musical discoveries lately that are worth hearing about?

Not sure.  I've not been checking as much new music lately.  I keep listening to jazz though.  I guess Michael Mantler and Carla Bley are "new" discoveries.  I've known about both for ages but have only just gotten around to hearing them.

I wrote a post about what I've been up to but got an access denied error Angry

I've mainly been searching for a summer job, not a lot of opportunities around here.

I'd probably be down for mafia.

I hate those errors. Dead

Yeah, I know what you mean, I sent in a few applications about two weeks ago for Accounting jobs; I'm going to start looking for some more here this weekend. Good luck with it!

Awesome! I'll be sure to let you know when something starts up; you should sign up for that site anyway. Tongue It'd be great to get some newbies who didn't even play the games over here as well. Can't wait to get hosting again.

Oh, okay.

I will check out both of those names, thanks! And now off to lunch and to do a few things, but I'll be around.

Awesome! Definitely be sure to introduce yourself and post in the music section of course. I think I might get an elimination game going at some point today that's music-themed. Hopefully I will also find out about mafia starting sometime today as well.

OK, now to eat some lunch and stuff, see you guys soon. Cool

Some of Carla Bley's stuff reminded me of Henry Cow in places.  Plus Dave Holland plays on one of her albums and Julie Tippetts also supplies vocals.  Later albums feature Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean and Roswell Rudd.

Then of course she's worked with Michael Mantler (who she's married to) and thusly also worked with Robert Wyatt, Jack DeJohnette, Steve Swallow, Nick Mason, Terje Rypdal and Jack Bruce.

I also really want to hear this:

A jazz opera featuring many great musicians.  It even features John McLaughlin.  Win!

You'd certainly enjoy some of Michael Mantler and Carla Bley's music, Colin.
