I always found that story so crazy TODDLER, but I checked the internet (where you can find all and any info) and found a book that mentions Satanism in Vineland back in 1971, as well as a personal account from someone saying there were satanic cults through the 70's and 80's.

So what do we make of people like this Fitzpatrick who put eveything he had on something like this (and obvioulsy lost)? Is he a person with deep personality issues that lead him to do it and believe it all? Is he an extremely gullible person? I certainly hope he is rather a complete idiot because if he's actually an intelligent person who believed in all this sh*t, I'm scared.

Well T, Fitzpatrick wrote a book called The Doomsday Code, unless he sold several million copies, I don't believe many will buy it anymore.
Already Amazon has lowered the price. http://www.amazon.com/Doomsday-Code-Robert-Fitzpatrick/dp/1609571215 Iván |

I read the first 40 pages - nothing spectacular, a few unintentional laughs (god uses irony) but not enough to keep reading.

Erm, Henry's real name is Nick. He's made a video of himself, so we all know what he looks like. I don't think he smiled though. |

I thought everyone had seen my masterpiece of avant-garde music by now. (Don't blame me for the black and white, it was Steve's idea) Edited by Henry Plainview - May 22 2011 at 19:25 |

Probably old, but new to me. Look at the infallible math that predicted the rapture.
I'd only wish I'd seen it first. It could have made a nice thesis. |

Are we sure Harold Camping was behind this? familyradio.com doesn't seem to even mention the May 21 date.

He didn't. Ghandi2's (an old account of his) account mentions his name. |

Or the 1994 date. How strange. |

I made it, even proved his timeline was crap (following the Bible literally despite we believe the Book of Genesis is only an allegory), also proved that he had added at least 200 extra years to his timeline counting some patriarch ages twice (Despite I know earth most likely has 4.5 billion years). . I took this information with Biblical quotes and even research from the Twelve Patriarchs Apocryphal Testaments found with the Dead Sea Scrolls to their page, their response was clear...Insults and a couple days later they banned me from all their sites then Micky helped me with support and he was also banned. No thesis you could make would convince them, a friend also gave some evidence and all the response she had "How can you talk about Harold Camping if you are not worth to to untie his shoes"
It is a cult, and probably if he sets a a new date, they will believe him and give more money Iván. |

I read somewhere that the response to this sort of cognitive dissonance among followers is typically that 1/3 become disillusioned and quit; 1/3 become more faithful and stronger in their dedication, and the remainder is sort of in between or it is unknown how they will really react.

I was just joking about the thesis. The paper necessary to refute his claims would be of a third grade level. |

LOL, that was another problem, we are talking about 10 dates:
You will see the name of Matt Tuter, who works or worked for Family radio but doesn't believe this. Camping apparently gave 10 dates, and I found a video for April 1996 They can't deny this.....But still they said Camping never predicted a date before 2011...They said that 1994? has an interrogation mark and for that reason doesn't count. And it amazes me that people who claim to believe in the Bible ignore a pretty basic claim about would-be "prophets."
Deuteronomy 18:22: If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. In other words, there is no margin of error. Camping made one failed prophecy. People should have disregarded his predictions thereafter. ![]() Observations: 1. He actually looks like I thought. A few more years and a few more hairs and he might actually somewhat resemble the real Henry Plainview.... 2. That song is actually a masterpiece of avant-garde music. 3. The black/white factor is extremely cheap, but it matches the proceedings. I like the touch of the family portraits in the background. 4. He didn't smile.
