I would argue that certain times the growls actually improve the emotional intensity of the piece.  A lot of times they're crucial IMO.

You could listen to Pelican if the vox really bug you, or ISIS have pretty diminished use of vocals in their music overall.

I believe GY!BE is one of the best bands ever and I'm not exaggerating.

Inb4 James yawns.

Inb4 everyone says it's not

I'm actually with you on that one.  I like it slightly more than Providence, even.  It's a fantastic track.

I'm gonna ignore your post-metal a thon, mostly because I don't think I have any post metal.

Instead, I shall listen to Cheer-Accident.

Join the depression fun!

Alright ... but I'm finishing this Cheer-Accident album first. <3 Fear Draws Misfortune

Let me know what you think of Panopticon, that album literally changed my life.  It's amazing.

Just started listening now, hopefully I finish it before bed.

I'm just not that keen on Kristoffer's voice.

I like "post" things, but not that much.

Mogwai is pretty boring, though.

The vocals are usually low anyway, so they don't bother me as much. :P

See, I think I'd end up reading my own poetry over squawky avant-sax and ambient keyboard.

Wait, no.  I do like a Mogwai track.  I need to hear more.

I love how Aaron Turner's lyrics are just indecipherable enough to make trying to understand them half the fun.
