Labour are one seat short of a majority in Wales. Could they ally with Lib/Dem?

I've often thought Milliband is one seat short of a majority

Don't be. I meant Welsh Language Fascists, Should have been clearer and I didn't know you were a party member. Sorry.

Bad election for you lot though. I won't laugh.

Yep - terrible night, and there is no disguising it. Time for a period of introspection and re-evaluation methinks (or what the media call a period of blood letting!).

Actually, I speak very little Welsh, and the party simply has to start reaching out more beyond its Welsh speaking heartlands and appeal to progressives who do not have Welsh as their first (or second) language and persuade them that there is a viable alternative to Labour and the Tories.

Ooof.  It looks like the cheating ways of the No Voters have won the day. Cry

I really do hope someone tries to sue them for false claims in their leaflets.  I know Chris Huhne was hinting at it.

If Kirsty had any sense, she'd say no. Interestingly, our experience last night was that the Lib Dem vote collapse in constituencies went virtually exclusively to the Tories, who had a fantastic night really. I think they've done fairly well in England as well.

Plaid also suffered from being junior coalition partners, no doubt at all.

I think Carwyn will go alone. 30 seats is enough to get most legislation through.

Anyhow, when I go out for a much needed recovery night tonight (Beer), I'll raise a glass to the incredible and stupendous Alex Salmond. Might even apply for a transfer to Scotland and enjoy a true independent country soon!!

That no campaign was the most disgraceful I have ever seen. The spectacle of Cameron and, to their shame, senior Labour figures allying themselves with the fascist bully boys of BNP was disgraceful. It will now take another generation to get any form of PR in the UK.

My unions (PCS) NEC results have also just been published. Pathetic turnout of 10.8%, guaranteeing another year in office for the mad Trots.

Oooh - a bad couple of days. Think I will get well and truly drunk tonightCry

Indeed.  As a socialist and mostly Labour supporter (not so much New Labour, of course) I am really not happy at some of the No Voters within the Labour Party.

I'm not at all surprised by the Tories.  They always do stuff like this.  They keep blaming Labour for the global recession.  It's getting sickening!  I'm not saying the Labour Party were free of blame.  It's just the Tories (and the Lib Dems) keep repeating the same hogwash all the time.

I should have never made the comment, I am really sorry. I don't know  what's happening to me recently getting all aggressive about stuff. It wasn't meant to be taken literally but even so....

Yep the No's have it!  Basically I think it was lost from the start.  Too many people couldn't see the benefits of Av and we were never offered a real choice ie PR where the case for or against would be more straight forward and would have captured the imagination of the general public.  As it was I think many people weren't interested and those that were were frightened by the diingenuous claims of the No vote campaign.  I guess Cameroon gave in to the vote on AV cos he knew it would be easy to argue against.

Help me I'm falling!

The no voters are either:
Tories or Labour Voters who think the status quo is best for their party.
Can't be bothered to think about it.
Want PR and don't think AV delivers.

Or they have carefully weighed up the pros and cons and come up with the wrong decisionLOL

I'm actually quite annoyed by the result. Angry

The behaviour of the Tories no doubt did have an effect.

Notice in London that there were a 4 or 5 Yes votes.  London use AV already for the Mayoral Elections, I gather.

Or gullible to the lies of the No Campaign.
Or who don't want change because they think FPTP isn't broken.

Islington, Haringey, Lambeth and Camden, all voted Yes for AV.  Plus Cambridge and Glasgow Kelvin.
