I have done a few for a single year. I was just wondering what folks think. To be honest, my polls are usually allowing of voting as a mere nicety. I mainly desire the conversations which arise from the polls. The list was just my personal favorites list for the 1970's.

Don't worry Alitare this list is fine , but probably it's better to choose one single year,doing that way maybe there will be less : this album is missing!

For me, Rising and the debut are equal. For the purposes of the decision it is not an average of the two. Vote for either and make sure to say which. But do whatever you'd like. We'll figure it out somehow.

Yeah, the 1970's might possibly be my favorite decade. Other backups include Sin after Sin from Judas Priest, Spectral Mornings, Before and After Science, "Heroes", Tales of Mystery and Imagination, Elegant Gypsy, Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak, Heavy Horses, and the list goes on for a while.

Then respond to it in any way you wish. I'm not going to force limitations on what you want to say. If there's an album/s you prefer not on this list, mention them. I had twenty or thirty albums I had to leave off due to lack of room. Layla, Slowhand, Paranoid, Fragile, Dreamboat Annie, Led Zeppelin IV, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Moonmadness, The Kick Inside, School's Out, Rumours, etc.
This list was solely based on my personal favorites from the decade. You are free to respond in a likewise fashion. Or not, you can respond however gives you the most enjoyment - I'd prefer that. The only criteria which I ask you put most importance on is which album makes you feel the most and why.

Heh, I do love Red (it is my favorite KC album!) but it is definitely more cerebral, like most KC, and doesn't make me "feel" too much.
Maybe I am wrong but it seems you were asking that and not so much which was our favorite, so from this list (I don't know ALL of them) I am going with "Wish You Were Here"
I guess I can't really say much accept it really moves me when I listen.

There are maybe two or three albums on your list that I haven't heard and it's almost impossible for me to single out one of the others as a favourite. My wife is a big fan of Leonard Cohen - not a name I've seen a lot around here so good on you for that. It's been a long time but Ziggy Stardust was probably the album (from the list) that had the greatest impact on me as a young teenager back in the early seventies, a lot to do with its/Bowie's sexuality in the same kind of way as the Velvet Underground. "Songs In The Key Of Life" is my favorite on this list. It has terrific songs like "As" and "Pastime Paradise," and is a transcendent masterpiece/ magnum opus of 70's music. I don't even care that it isn't prog, I love that record.
